Saturday 13th August ‘Her Outdoors Week’ – Guided Walk from Shankill to Rathmichael with the DMP Volunteer Rangers and DLR Sports Partnership

Description: DLR Sports Partnership are joining forces with the Dublin Mountains Partnership for a guided walk led by the DMP Volunteer Rangers to celebrate ‘Her Outdoors Week 2022’, a Sport Ireland initiative to encourage women to get out and enjoy the benefits of being in the outdoors. This will be an easy paced walk starting from Shankill DART Station and following the Dublin Mountains Way (DMW) to Rathmichael Wood. The route will take in a loop of Rathmichael Wood, where there are amazing views of Dublin Bay and the Dublin Mountains, before returning to Shankill along the DMW. The DMP Volunteer Rangers leading the walk will give tips and guidance on hill walking equipment, safety and way-marked walking routes across the Dublin mountains.

 

Date: Saturday 13th August at 11:00

Duration: 2.5 hours approximately

Distance: 7.5 km approximately

Degree of difficulty: Moderate.

Bring: walking boots, raingear, a warm layer, water and a snack.

Meeting point: Shankill DART Station car-park at 11:00.

Public Transport: DART and Dublin Bus (Routes 45a, 84, 84A, 145). See link to Transport for Ireland Journey Planner for suggestions.

Car-Parking: there is a fee of €4 to park in Shankill DART Station for the day.

Note: No dogs allowed on this walk
