Walk No 1 Sat 4th March - Dublin Mountains Way - Western end (public transport option) (Ref for booking - Walk No 1 Sat 4th Mar)

Description: A lovely walk along the western section of the Dublin Mountains Way from Sean walsh Park to Bohernabreena visiting the reservoir en route.

Date: Saturday 4th March at 10.00am

Length: 17 km

Duration: 4 hours

Meeting point: Sean Walsh park

Degree of difficulty: Moderate

Walk No 2 Sun 5th March - Fairy Castle loop via Marley Park (public transport option) (Ref for booking - Walk No 2 Sun 5 Mar)

Description: A moderate walk on forest road with part on WW and DMW up onto Fairy castle at 537m where you will have panoramic view over Dublin and Wicklow mountains. The route now descends to the main car park in Marley Park where you started. Information will be given on different DMPW walks and equipment that you should bring to enjoy the walks.

Date: Sunday 5th March.

Length: 13 Km. Duration: 4 hrs.

Meeting point: Main Marley Park car park at 10 o'clock sharp.

Degree of difficulty: Moderate.

Hike No 3 Sun 12th March - Johnnie Fox's to Prince William's Seat via Glencullen & WW (Ref for booking - Hike No 3 Sun 12th Mar)

Description: We leave the overflow car park and head for Boranaraltry bridge climbing the Wicklow Way before heading into Glencullen forest. Passing by an old shooting lodge, granite quarries and Ravens Rock we eventually reach the summit of Prince Williams Seat. This 555m hill sits directly on the border between Dublin and Wicklow mountains. Our return route is back via the Wicklow Way to the Glencullen river and for those that need refreshment onto the pub for a hard earned drink.

Date: Sun 12th March.

Length: 14 Km.

Duration: 4.5 hrs.

Meeting point: Johnnie Fox's overflow car park at 10.00 o'clock sharp (10:00 hours).

Degree of difficulty: Strenous.

National Tree Week Walk - Sunday 12th March 

A guided nature walk through Massy's Estate with a tree being planted along the way.

Walk No 4 Sunday 19th March - Sli na Slainte - Cruagh (Ref for booking - Walk No 4 Sun 19 Mar)

 

Description:  A walk through Cruagh wood with great views over the mountains. The walk loops and descends back to Cruagh to car park. Information will be given along the way on different DMPW walks and equipment that you should bring to enjoy the walks.

Walk No 5 Sat 25th March – Family Friendly Walk from Hell Fire Car Park to Massy's Estate - (Ref for booking - Walk No 5 - Sat 25th Mar)

 

Description: A looped guided family friendly walk for beginners. Starting at Hell Fire Car Park walking on the forest roads and then onto Massy's Estate across the road.

Date: Sat 25th March.

 

Length: 2 - 4Km

 

Duration: 2 - 3 hrs (depending on the weather)

 

Meeting point: Hell Fire car park start at 10 o'clock sharp.

 

Degree of difficulty: Easy

 

Bring: Good walking boots, raingear, warm clothes, hot drink, water & food (snacks).

Walk No. 6 - Sunday 26th March -  Bohernabreena Upper Reservoir loop (ref for booking - Walk No. 6 Sun 26th Mar)

Description: This loop is an enjoyable walk along part of the Dodder before looping around the upper reservoir and back to the car park.

Date: Sunday 26th March

Meeting point: Bohernabreena car park at 10 o'clock sharp.

Length: 8.5km.

Climb: 15m

Duration: one and half hours

Degree of difficulty: easy
