Walk No 1 - Sunday 14th May - Hike Dublin Mountains Way - Eastern end (public transport option DART) (Ref for booking - Walk No 1 - Sun 14th May) 


Description: A lovely hike along the eastern section of the Dublin Mountains Way from Shankill to Barnaslingan / Scalp visiting Carrickgollogan and the Lead Mines tower en route.


Date: Sunday 14th May 


Length: 12 to 14 km 


Duration: 3.5 - 4 hours


Meeting point: Brady's car park at 11:00 (11 am)


Returning to Brady's.




Please do not park in Brady's car park as this is for patrons of the pub only. Or take the DART and walk the short distance from the Station to Brady's Pub car park on the main street in Shankill.


Degree of difficulty: Moderate 


Bring: good walking boots, raingear, warm clothes, lunch, water, snacks

Walk No 2 Sat 27th May - Tibradden, Ballyedmonduff, Fairy Castle, Tibradden (Ref for booking - Walk No 2 Sat 27th May)


Description: A pleasant hike from Tibradden car park via DMW trail to summit of Tibradden, passing a passage tomb on top. The route then follows WW down to forest road and continues by three rock until it leads off towards Ballyedmonduff where there is another prehistoric tomb to view.(nice sheltered place for lunch). The route then climbs up to Fairy Castle at 537m the highest point where you will get ( weather being kind) panoramic views over Dublin, Kildare and wicklow, bring your camera. The walk then descends down westwards to join the Tibradden DMW again. The route now descends to the car park where you started. Information will be given on different DMP walks and equipment that you should bring to enjoy the walks.

Length: 16 Km.


Duration: 4.5 hrs.


Meeting point: Tibradden car park at 11 o'clock sharp (11:00 hours).


Degree of difficulty: Moderate to strenuous.




Bring: Good walking boots, raingear, warm clothes, hot drink, water and food & torch.
