Rock to the Top  second trail-blazing hike 26 August. Meet outside Rua/Red Arts Centre beside Luas Tallaght stop. 10:30am

Rock to the Top (2017-2018) by Ciarán Taylor

"Inspired by the story of Oisín I dTír na n-Óg, who lifted a boulder single-handed up the mountains at Glenasmole, Ciarán Taylor’s Rock to the Top, invites the people of South Dublin County to take up the challenge to recreate this mythic feat. This time it will take many hands, to chip pieces from a boulder placed at The Square Tallaght and carry them along the Dublin Mountain Way to make a cairn at the foot of Kippure, over the space of about a year. Connecting city with mountains, and people with each other, the project asks 'Why are we drawn to high places?' The project is commissioned by South Dublin County Council's In Context 4 programme of public art . Thanks to Rua /Red, Wicklow Mountains National Park and the Glenasmole community for their co-operation"
