Friday, 19 September Culture Night Walk at Hell Fire Club

Culture Night / Oíche Chultúir is a national moment, celebrating all that makes up the richness and diversity of Culture in Ireland today, connecting people to cultural activities locally and nationally and aims to open up pathways to ongoing engagement. Our Culture Night walk will be led by the DMP Volunteer Rangers who will be discussing the history of the Hell Fire Club and its environs, along with the flora & fauna along the way.
**While this walk will start during daylight hours, it may finish in darkness so please bring a torch.
Date: Friday, 19th of September.
Meeting point: Hell Fire Club carpark at 18:00.
Duration: 1.5-2 hours, approximately.
Distance: 6km approx.
Degree of difficulty: Moderate.
Bring: Torch, walking boots, rain gear, warm layers, water, and snacks.
Parking: At Hell Fire Club carpark, please carpool as there is limited parking.
Note – no dogs allowed on this walk.
Please inform us privately of any health issues on the day and ensure you bring any necessary medication with you.
In the event of an orange or red weather warning, this event will be cancelled. Other weather warnings will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.

Sunday, 21 September, DMP Volunteer Ranger led Hike: Tibradden Forest to Prince William's Seat

Please note: you will not be allowed join the walk if you do not have sufficient clothing and gear as listed below.
Description: This guided hike will start from Tibradden Forest Car Park, into Cruagh Wood, along the boardwalk to Cruagh Summit, onto Glendoo, Knocknagun and Prince William's Seat and return. The route surfaces include, footpaths, county road, gravel trails and forest floor. On a clear day the views along the route are breathtaking.
Date: Sunday, 21st of September at 10:00.
Duration: 4.5 - 5 hours, approximately.
Distance: 17km approximately, 480m of climb.
Degree of difficulty: Moderate to strenuous.
Bring: Sturdy waterproof boots, rain gear, warm layers, water, and lunch.
Meeting point: Tibradden Forest at 09:45
Public Transport: There is no direct public transport to this location on Sunday’s. See link to TFI’s Journey Planner from information on the Saturday Local Link Kildare South Dublin SD4 service from Tallaght to Tibradden Wood.
