Sunday 16th February, Hop on - Hike Off, public transport friendly hike with the DMP Volunteer Rangers from Marlay Park to Fairy Castle.

Join us for a moderate to strenuous 12km hike from Marlay Park to Fairy Castle along the Wicklow Way and Dublin Mountains Way. This hike is accessible via public transport. Please use the link below to plan your journey.
Important: All participants must have sturdy, waterproof footwear and a rain jacket. You will not be allowed to join the walk without these items. For the full list of what to bring, see below.
Date: Sunday, 16th of February at 10:30.
Duration: 4 hours, approximately.
Distance: 12km approximately, 410m of climb.
Degree of difficulty: Moderate to strenuous.
Bring: Sturdy waterproof footwear, rain gear, warm layers, food, snacks, hot drink and water.
Meeting point: Marlay Park, College Road car park at 10:15.

No Dogs allowed on this hike.

Active South Dublin in partnership with the DMP invite you to join us for a unique family experience designed to help children (ages 3-6, but all are welcome) engage with nature in a safe, mindful, and enjoyable way. Through scavenger hunts, games, storytelling, and mindfulness activities, families will explore the forest together, creating lasting connections with the natural world. Guided by Orlagh, an experienced educator with a background in environmental learning, this session encourages families to slow down, observe, and truly experience the outdoors.
What to Bring: Warm, waterproof clothing (layers are best), Comfortable footwear, Water & snacks, A sense of curiosity!

Wednesday 19th February at 19:30, Dublin Mountains Archaeology Webinar.
A webinar with archaeologist Neil Jackman who will discuss the archaeology and stories of the Dublin uplands. This webinar is an output of the Dublin Mountains Community Archaeology Project 2024 which is an initiative of Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council dlr Heritage Events South Dublin County Council and the Dublin Mountains Partnership with support from The Heritage Council. It is delivered by Abarta Heritage and Archaeology and Built Heritage.
